We established AIB with the objective of
offering our clients personal yet
professional service and over the years, we
believe we have been successful in this
endeavour.
I have been excited, as I have watched two
distinct areas of our business adapt to the
requirements of our industry. |

Firstly, our staff compliment has grown from
two inexperienced yet willing employees to
the 43 competent employees we have at
present. Not only has our staff compliment
grown, but their levels of responsibility
have also been stretched with the increasing
requirements of the modern business world.
Secondly, we have been successful in
convincing the insurance industry to provide
us with underwriting facilities to enable us
to underwrite our own risks, pay claims and
issue policies and endorsements. This
feature has enabled us to provide an
efficient service to our clients.
We are pleased to have fulfilled our goal of
building a technologically-driven
administration centre that will continue to
provide a service to the smaller broker
market by offering them support, which will
enable them to concentrate on marketing
insurance products.

These formative years instilled in me the
principles required in a successful
brokerage. Above all else, relationships
were to be valued and developed and I am
pleased that we have been able to build
lasting relationships with insurance
companies, clients, other brokers and our
own staff.
The future of insurance remains uncertain,
however I am sure of two strategic issues.
Firstly, to succeed, brokers will need to
develop strategic partnerships based on both
trust and competence. Secondly, I believe
that in the future, the insurance companies
will need to be more focussed on carrying
the risk and more wiling to leave the
administrative support of clients to the
brokers.
Our focus on the client and the importance
of meeting their needs will keep us in good
stead as we move into the exciting future
that awaits us.
